Our History

We were founded in 1981 as Moore's Refrigeration by Bill Moore. A partnership with Chip Norwood was formed in 1993. In 1996, Chip became the sole proprietor, and the name was changed to Norwood's Commercial Appliances. In 2004, we incorporated, becoming Norwood's Commercial Appliances, Inc.

 

Our Training

We are licensed by the North Carolina State Board os Refrigeration Examiners and are EPA Certified. We attend factory and regional schools on a regular basis to better serve our customers.

CFESA Certified Technicians: to ensure your repair needs are met professionally and efficiently, CFESA has a program in which technicians are tested and certified only upon successful completion of a rigorous exam. Technicians are awarded Certificates of Excellence in electricity, gas, steam or refrigeration. Once a technician has passed three of the four tests, they are awarded a Master Technician Certification.

Norwood's Commercial Appliances is very proud to have two Master Technicians on staff - Chip Norwood and Noah Lippard.

A CFESA Certified Company

In 2002, we became CFESA Certified, the highest standard available through CFESA. CFESA's Company Certification program is designed to raise the bar of quality in the food service industry and to distinguish the companies that provide superior service. The certification has requirements in five areas including financial, education and training, industry participation, industry relations and professionalism. These requirements were carefully created to enable high quality companies of any size to achieve CFESA Certified Company status.
